Business Manager, Nick Anderson: As the Business Manager of WMSR, Nick maintains the station’s budget and approves all spending. When he’s not rocking out at the station he’s working with Miami’s administration handling contractual payments, dues, and board payroll. Imagine a man who works in a cubicle all day doing paperwork… well, that’s not Nick. Nick’s a laid back kind of guy who somehow manages to balance that out with a very ambitious side. He loves jamming to tunes of all genres, playing disc golf, making independent films, playing volleyball, and meeting new people. Nick believes in the boundless potential of Miami’s student run station and strives to push the limits. A very personable and accessible person, he encourages anyone to approach him with questions or goals for the station.

Station Manager, Mike Cohen: As Station Manager Mike aids other board members in accomplishing their goals for the station. In addition, he works closely with the General Manager to make WMSR the Student Voice of Miami University. Mike is a Zoology and Environmental Sciences Major. He works closely with Sports Director Pat Murray to broadcast all Miami Football, Hockey, Basketball and Baseball games, and has been doing sports broadcasting and sports talk radio since his freshman year of high school. Mike loves sports, being outdoors and random facts about things that are not important at all. And as an FYI: Clowns make him nervous.

Music Director, Evy Duskey: Evy (Eh-vie) enjoys the fine WMSR board position of Music Director along with her esteemed partner in crime Colin Ackerman. Their job, collectively, is to make sure that WMSR plays groovy tunes at all times by communicating with promoters, charting tracks, updating the rotation and setting up interviews. This process is generally outlined in the “Flowchart O’Fun,” as designed by previous WMSR Music Director and always friend, Eric O’Bryant. In her free time Evy can be found adding/organizing her vinyl collection, dancing while she eats, and getting a bit too intense over Scrabble games. Some of her other favorite things in life are her giraffe chopsticks, her oversized Sony headphones, her books, and her self-stirring mug. She also has a radio show “Mixed Media” which specializes in the broadcasting of a different personalized “mix-tape” by request every week. |

Music Director, Colin Ackerman: Colin is a Communications major hailing from Phoenix, MD (not Arizona), which is of course a suburb just North of Baltimore where he is the second oldest (or fifth youngest) of six kids. He is one-half of an elite crime fighting team known as the WMSR Music Directors. In addition to being on the board at WMSR he is also an RA in Mary Lyon Hall and a Campus Tour Guide (ask him something about Miami’s campus, he guarentees an accurate answer). He also enjoys listening and making music, and incorporating movie quotes into everyday conversation.

Programming Director, Jose Mondragon: Jose directs programming like it’s never been directed before…well, he tries. Creating the schedule, making sure people show up for their shows, and being responsible for show reviews are his main duties, but he also takes care of making people think he’s crazy. His list of loves includes, but is not limited to: singing karaoke, watching Flight of The Conchords, and long walks to Taco Bell. However, he’s not a big fan of: giant bugs, mustachioed men named Jorge (only if the mustache is curly), tiny bugs, bad Ahnold impersonators, bugs of indeterminant size, and loogies. Quick, random trivia!: doesn’t wear jeans, reads David Foster Wallace and James Bond books, and fancies himself a romance guru (but really isn’t). You can catch him many times a week, as he always seems to have a number of shows for the listening public’s enjoyment!

Promotions Director, Erika Hadley: Erika is a senior psychology major/pre-physical therapy student at Miami and your Promotions Director here at WMSR! She made her WMSR debut last year as a part of the dynamic Bethika duo on the hit radio show “The Finer Things Club,” which aired Wednesday nights from 9-10 p.m. When she’s not at WMSR, you can find Erika most anywhere on campus, be it playing some sweet intramural broomball defense at The Goggin, writing sports articles for The Student, puddle pulling with Kappa Delta Sorority, or singing alto II in Collegiate Chorale. Erika’s current interests include figuring out where she’s going to physical therapy school, attending Miami hockey games, napping, Team Eye-Woo Tommy Venture broomball, euchre, Lebanese food, competing, New Zealand, Steinkellers, pop-out birthday cards, and being overcommitted. Erika has also never lost a limbo contest in her life and has attended Space Camp seven times.

Chief Engineer, Hunter Olson: Hunter is in charge of keeping our studios filled to the rim with sparkly new equipment and making sure everything is working for our DJ’s. You can listen to him on WMSR on his talk show, SuperPop!, chronically whatever things he and his co-hosts find interesting from the past week.
When he isn’t at WMSR, he is probably in the ASG office, on the ice playing Broomball, or relaxing on his deck working on that tan. Want to see what Hunter is up to? Check out his Twitter! |

Production Director, Emily Imes: The production director for WMSR, Emily is where to go when you want sweepers and liners for your show. Her voice may sound familiar — in fact, it is her voice on most WMSR liners, and she is “Skittles” on the Miami in the Morning show. Even when Emily is away from WMSR, she’s on radio; during the summers, she works for WHIZ in Zanesville. Her hobbies include writing, doodling and going to amusement parks (she’s a roller coaster junkie). All this adds up to…yep, you guessed it; Emily seems to have NO free time. How does she fit it all in?

Event Coordinator, Sarah Salbu: We are excited to have Sarah on board as the first event coordinator in WMSR history. (Insert cheers here!). Sarah is an adventurous gal who isn’t afraid to try new things, meet new people and always enjoys a good laugh. With a strong interest in advocating peace for the globe and preservation of our environment, we are looking forward to the events she coordinates dealing with these topics. Sarah’s goals for the year include making sure all members of WMSR and members of the Miami/Oxford community benefit from and enjoy all events sponsored by WMSR. Known to break out English accents to recite lines from Harry Potter, or do lengthy impersonations of Dane Cook and Will Ferrel this girl is always looking to share a hearty laugh with anyone who cares to join in. She is looking forward to a great year! YAY WMSR!

Sports Director, Patrick Murray: Patrick is returning in 2008-2009 for a second year as WMSR’s Sports Director. As the head of the Sports Department, he is charged with coordinating all of the station’s live sports broadcasts, in addition to scheduling the sports shows that are broadcast from WMSR’s Williams Hall studios. A junior, he began he his journey in sports broadcasting by providing color commentary for Miami’s hockey team during his freshman year. Last year, he supplied both play by play and color for Miami’s Football, Hockey, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball teams, as the sports department increased its live broadcast total to over two dozen, up from zero the previous year. Outside of WMSR, Patrick spends his time playing his guitars and rooting (with some level of disappointment) for the Chicago Cubs.

Chief Designer, Jessica Boonstra: Jess is a senior Graphic Design major and newly appointed Chief Designer for WMSR! She enjoys spending countless hours in studio, watching the sunrise after spending countless hours in studio, and consuming massive amounts of caffeine to stay awake… in studio. Jess also loves listening to good music of any genre at insanely loud levels (sorry housemates), especially when in need of inspiration. Other obsessions include: Chuck Palahniuk novels, Indian food, swimming laps at the rec, coffee, sharpie markers and of course, all things design.
